ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS
Democrats Shadow Minister Ian Gilfillan says the only thing he wants for Christmas is for the Government to wake up and appreciate the sacred nature of the Adelaide Parklands, revere them and treat them with integrity.
"Sadly Premier Scrooge is hell-bent on charging the public to use the parklands even though its the taxpayers dollars which maintain the greens and its facilities its double dipping at its worst."
Mr Gilfillan says the decision to charge the public entry into the new International Rose Garden is evidence of this.
As President of the Adelaide Parklands Preservation Association Mr Gilfillan invites the media to join representatives of the Parklands Alliance at a Christmas Gathering on Sunday 3rd December 2000.
The Parklands Alliance consists of: The Adelaide Parklands Preservation Association; The North Adelaide Society; The National Trust; The Conservation Council; The Civic Trust; The Norwood Residents Association; and The Architecture Foundation of SA.
